Post Surgery - Day Three!

Hello all!! Alex here. AGAIN. We have been working so hard over here in the processess of healing and walking and such that I guess I forgot to post an update.

The farting began about 7 last night. Yay! Finally. Bowel sounds. And, folks, let me just say, it was spectacular.

Doc came in this morning and confirmed bowel sounds so she is to begin the broths and juices. If these are handled well, then she might soon go off the morphine pump and switch to mephergan orally. Next step, solid food, but the timetable on that one is uncerain.

No pics today folks. At least none that she would let me publish.

I am very exhausted so I guess that is all I can write today.

Maybe tomorrow you will get Belinda.

Again, thanks for all the well-wishes and prayers.

Thank you all for you helping keep my dear love, Belinda, with me through all your prayers.

Mr. Ninjapoodle / Alex / Hogsnorts

  1. I'm thrilled to hear that the fart chants and prayers worked their charms. Get some rest, big guy; you've done a very good job. Oh, and give Belinda a hug from me next time you see her.

  8. I am so happy when I find out something I don't like is over before I knew it had begun. I just posted a good luck and get well message on the AT blog thinking you had this ahead of you. Now I'm delighted it's over and you have bowel sounds! Record them for Asa!

Get well so we can compare notes on how well this blog thing is going since we got our own. Seems a bit lonely to me, but it's way early yet. Good luck...go home....get back to normal as soon as possible. Back to Belinda normal, I mean. D

  11. YAY for farts! You go girl! If I had the money (and a nanny, and a dogsitter, and someone who could do graphics), I would TOTALLY come down there and have a farting contest with you. Good times.

  12. I've been out of town for six days so this is wonderful news to come home to! Knowing Belinda and her determination, there will shortly be more than just air coming out of her!

  13. Hooray! I bet the broth tasted mighty, mighty good.

Hope all's well in the Ninja Poodles world today. Feel better, Belinda!

  14. Don't hug her for me please. You'll just squeeze out another fart from her. I would think you'd like to keep that to a bare minimum.

But kiss her forehead for me. Lean over, whisper "This is from Mocha" and kiss her sweetly for me. If you want, feel free to lick her as well. But if she hates that, tell her it was your idea.

  17. Best wishes, and congrats on the bowel sounds. I know, it's a crazy thing to blog about, but when you sit around and it's the only thing you're waiting on, it becomes pretty consuming!

    Prayers your way!!

  18. Yay! Bowel sounds! Yay!

I am so honored that you came to comment on MY BLOG post surgery. I mean, that's going on my list of life achievements. But I must know- did you comment on my blog even BEFORE you made bowel sounds? Because that would be amazing of you!!!

I'm keeping you in my thoughts and prayers, Belinda!! Hope you're feeling better.

  21. Excellent news!! I'm so glad you commented on the passage of gassage. My husband is an RN in the recovery room of our local OR, and he always is encouraging people to "fart away!" What a job, ya know??

Hang in there, both of you! And congrats on a successful surgery!

    Love and prayers!

  23. I have noticed that it is mainly the people who live OUT OF STATE that are happy about Belinda farting....those of us who live close however....;-)

And did you notice that the temp is now back in the mid-nineties since all this farting is happening?
    Coincidence? ;-)

Glad to hear that you're progressing well, B, and keep those farts a rollin'!
